Spring Event: L'Dor V'Dor (1)

Please join us in celebrating and honoring Joanne and Jeremy Lane and her parents Riki and Stanley Tulin by contributing to our virtual ad journal for our annual OROT event.   Our Spring event will take place on Wednesday May 11, 2022 at the home of Cindy Smukler and Jeffrey Barrack.

In 1999, a revolutionary idea in special education was introduced to the Philadelphia Jewish community – a program that would allow student with diverse learning needs to attend Jewish day school.  This program allowed for academic, behavioral and social needs to be addressed through research-based learning strategies and began that year with two students, one teacher, and one director.  It was funded through the generosity of the Jewish Federation of Greater Philadelphia and a family foundation.  Over the last 22 years, OROT, meaning “lights”—has impacted hundreds of children in almost every Jewish day school in Philadelphia. OROT remains a gift to the families of children with diverse learning needs, enabling these children to succeed in the warm nurturing environment of a Jewish day school.

Your contribution means our classrooms, be they the physical space or virtual, are equipped with state of the art curricula and materials to meet the various learning needs of our students.  Our teachers are trained in the most current techniques in order to employ best practices for each child, and students and parents alike are made to feel supported and heard throughout the educational  journey.

We look to you to give generously so that current and future families in our very own Jewish community can continue to take advantage of OROT’s dynamic educational offerings.
